Classic Film Screening: The Detroit Lakes Public Library is hosting a free 2 p.m. screening of the 1941 film “How Green Was My Valley,” which details early 20th century life with a hard-working, fun-loving family in a Welsh coal-mining village, where they deal with love, death, union strikes and bullying. Based on the novel by Richard Llewellyn, the film was nominated for 10 Oscars and won five. This film is rated Approved and has a run time of 118 minutes.

Color Guard Fundraiser Breakfast: The Lake Region Veterans Color Guard will be hosting a breakfast fundraiser from 8 a.m. to noon at the American Legion Club, 810 West Lake Drive, Detroit Lakes. Frazee Firefighters Relief Auction: The 14th Annual Frazee Firefighters Relief Association Auction will take place from 5-9 p.m. inside the Frazee Event Center. There will be live and silent auctions, horse races, games, raffles and more.
Lakes Area Community Concert Band: The Lakes Area Community Concert Band performs its annual spring concert at 4 p.m. on the main stage of the Historic Holmes Theatre, 806 Summit Ave., Detroit Lakes. These talented area musicians will perform classic wind band compositions, spirited marches, music from Broadway and more. The performance is free and open to the public, though free will donations are accepted.
